I AM NOT A BREEDER!

I DON'T KNOW ANY BREEDERS PERSONALLY
OTHER THAN VIA THE LISTSERVE(S)--JOIN ONE!

I CANNOT RECOMMEND A BREEDER TO YOU!

I CANNOT ANSWER BT QUESTIONS
EXCEPT AS HOW THEY MAY OR MAY NOT
RELATE TO OUR OWN BTS!

If you have arrived at this page, it's because you must have missed the disclaimers elsewhere on my Border Terrier pages begging folks to not send me email asking for advice on breeders or the breed. Not trying to be mean, but...

I'm sorry, but I'm just an owner with a few 'techno-geek' skills! As noted in many places on my BT pages, I am NOT an expert on border terriers other than our own two, nor do I know of any breeders other than those found on either my database (who add themselves without my intervention or monitoring) or on the BT listserves, nor can I help you with BT questions beyond the scope of my own EXTREMELY limited personal knowledge.

Please join any of the BT listserves--I have links to the list signup pages on my BT page (or go to http://www.yahoogroups.com and search for 'border terrier'). They are busy lists, but well worth the bandwidth since there are TONS of owners, breeders, vets, etc etc there. It really is the very best way to learn more about BTs, as they truly are not for everyone. It's a wonderful breed, indeed, don't get me wrong, but like all breeds, they do have their quirks. If you are new to the breed, please do the research--an informed owner almost always guarantees a happy owner and a happy pet. The List is also the best way to locate and get to know a breeder and hopefully get on a waiting list--it is not uncommon for BTs to be 'reserved' even before they are in the womb...

If you are interested in a rescue, please contact Jo Wolf, the National Rescue Coordinator, for more information.

Please excuse the 'semi-canned' flavor of this message, but despite NUMEROUS disclaimers on my page, I'm still getting way too many BT questions that I flat out just can't answer :( I don't have the background or knowledge to help you but I guarantee the folks on the list do!! We also don't show or frequent the show circuits, so I'm NOT an expert on BTs other than our own Poppie and Rudy, aka 'The Rude Boy', (or 'Devil Dog' in his worst 'boy' moments :) who joined the 'Pack pack' in June, 1999 as a 9 week old pup. Poppie, who joined us in April, 1989, as a 6 weeker, and sadly, left us in December 2004, was *just* our well-beloved 'family champion' who had only a BBX (Bed Buddy Excellent) behind her name, while the jury is still out on Rudy who needs to grow up a little more and get civilized!

See you on the list!

Elaine

PS If you STILL feel the need to email me, despite the above, well, go for it, but be warned that you will most likely get essentially the same message as above if you ask me any of the questions I'm stating I cannot answer. NOTE I SAID CAN NOT, NOT WILL NOT. I truly don't know all THAT much about the breed nor who or where the breeders are, but you can email me by clicking here, but please note that I have changed my email contact method to a service that does emails via a special service in an effort to combat spam. If you still feel you must email me, please use this, and I will get the message.
